About – Hell Girl, also known as Jigoku Shōjo: Girl from Hell is an anime series, produced by Aniplex and Studio Deen. It focuses on the existence of a supernatural system that allows people to take revenge by having other people sent to Hell via the services of the mysterious titular character and her assistants who implement this system. Revenge, injustice, hatred, and the nature of human emotions are common themes throughout the series
Why I like it – i had pretty high expectations for Hell Girl (Jigoku Shōjo). Admittedly, they were formed by little more than a love for Japanese horror and awesome box art – but let’s be fair, who doesn’t like j-horror and you never underestimate the power of good box art. It didn’t quite live up to my hopes since it was the first anime I had ever watched but in spite of its many flaws, I somehow wasn’t terribly disappointed either. And it got me to seek more anime.
About – Death Note is a anime/manga series created by writer Tsugumi Ohba and manga artist Takeshi Obata. The main character is Light Yagami, a high school student who discovers a supernatural notebook, the “Death Note”, dropped on Earth by a death god named Ryuk. It centers around Light’s attempt to create and rule a world cleansed of evil using the notebook and the efforts of a detective known as L, and subsequently his successors, Near and Mello, to stop him. The Death Note grants its user the ability to kill anyone whose name they know, by writing the name in the notebook while picturing their face.
Why I like it – The plot is very well-written, the characters are very interesting, it has a lot of dramatic and thrilling scenes. These features make Death Note what it is now. I can’t imagine someone not liking Death Note. Actually, I can’t imagine someone not putting Death Note in his top 3 anime or shows. It’s that good.
About – Naruto is an ongoing Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Masashi Kishimoto. The plot tells the story of Naruto Uzumaki, an adolescent ninja who constantly searches for recognition and aspires to become a Hokage, the ninja in his village that is acknowledged as the leader and the strongest of all. The series is based on a one-shot comic by Kishimoto that was published in the August 1997 issue of Akamaru Jump.
Why I like it – I admit not being a specialist in the field of anime, but Naruto is certainly the best anime series I’ve seen so far. It has the emotional intensity of romance, while combing actions and moral code of friendship and essential relationship issues. Lots of characters have deep and unique personalities, and make me want to compare Masashi Kishimoto to Shakespeare for his understanding of human psychology.
