I send, therefore I receive.. I never knew getting something in the mail would make me so happy, these simple joys in life make your entire day go well!
What is Postcrossing?
Postcrossing is a website set up to let people send and receive postcards to and from randomly selected strangers. 🙂 (www.postcrossing.com)
The goal of this project is to allow people to receive postcards from all over the world, for free. Well, almost free! The main idea is that: if you send a postcard, you will receive at least one back from a random Postcrosser from somewhere in the world.
The element of surprise of receiving postcards from different places in the world (many of which you probably have never heard of) can turn your mailbox into a box of surprises – and who wouldn’t like that?
Here’s my 1st received postcard – From Miki in Japan He writes :-
“Hello, greetings from Japan ! Here’s a post card of “kobe” which is a very famous shrine called the ikuta shrine. A lot of people pay a visit to here on New Years day ! Happy postcrossing !”
The 1st Post card I sent out was to Lu-Jung-Wang in Taiwan – who loves collecting rail tickets , so I made sure I stapled one to the post-card , this is the message he sent me after he got it :-
“HELLO!
THANKS A LOT FOR THE RAIL TICKET!
IT’S MY FIRST TRAIN TICKET FROM INDIA!!
And THANK a lot for telling me my name in Hindi. It’s really cool to get your card and know all these information from you.
Louis
(LU-JUNG WANG)”
After this i’ve sent out postcards to Germany , South Africa , Japan, Thailand , Poland , Spain, China & USA.and now i sit back , relax and wait for my postcards from around the world to arrive 🙂
Im so glad my pal Sunny introduced me to postcrossing , my mailbox will never be empty and I will know a lil bit more about our world and its people every time I get a fresh postcard !
So go on ! Send that postcard & Happy postcrossing !!!
yay, i think i shall sign up soon!!!
